Facebook just provided some growth stats for Parse, the cloud application platform it acquired last year. According to the company, 500,000 apps have been created with Parse and hundreds of thousands of Parse developers are located outside the U.S.
“We’re excited to see so many developers across the globe trusting Parse,” a Facebook spokesperson tells WebProNews. Among the noteworthy stats:
- Active apps in Asia grew nearly 90% in the first half of 2014
- Apps in APAC that use all three Parse products (Parse Core, Parse Push, and Parse Analytics) grew by more than 90% in the first half of 2014.
- 6 of Parse’s 15 largest countries (by number of active apps) are in Asia: India, Japan, Australia, China, Taiwan, and Korea.
“Additionally, to help the growing population of developers outside of the U.S. more easily use Parse, we’re localizing Parse technical documentations and customer success stories into new languages – Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Russian,” the spokesperson says.
As part of the globalization of Parse, Facebook now a global team for it, with dedicated people in London, Dublin, Paris, and Singapore. When Facebook acquired Parse, it had the whole team in Menlo Park.
