Facebook announced a call-to-action feature to “help Pages drive business objectives directly from the Page itself.”

“Businesses will now be able to link from a selection of buttons to any destination on or off Facebook, allowing for a much deeper integration with Pages,” a Facebook spokesperson says. “The seven call-to-action buttons available are Book Now, Contact Us, Use App, Play Game, Shop Now, Sign Up and Watch Video.”

In a blog post, Facebook shares a quote from Dollar Shave Club, which has been using one of the buttons:

“Over the course of a three-week test, the Sign Up call-to-action button delivered a 2.5x higher conversion rate versus other comparable social placements aimed to drive new user acquisition.” — Brian Kim, Director of Acquisition, Dollar Shave Club

That’s encouraging for businesses, who haven’t had a great year with Facebook, thanks to a widespread decline in organic reach for Facebook posts. This week has been full of exciting announcements from the company, however, when it comes to Pages. We went though them here, but in addition to these call-to-action buttons, Facebook has made important updates to search and its Trending feature, as well as post targeting, new insights, and some other tools for Pages.

And don’t forget, they’re still testing that buy button, which could lead to some big things for ecommerce businesses.

Facebook is rolling the new buttons out in the U.S. over the next few weeks, and will release them worldwide next year.
