Maci Bookout, one of the stars of MTV’s Teen Mom, announced recently that she’s pregnant with her second child and says she’s calling the baby a “miracle”.
The reality star revealed that after the birth of her 6-year old son Bentley, she was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome, a condition which makes pregnancy extremely difficult. Bookout says she was convinced she’d never have any more children, and she and boyfriend Taylor McKinney even discussed adoption.
“We were very concerned that we might not be able to have a child of our own, so we talked about adoption. I knew my chances [of getting pregnant] were very low. This baby is such a blessing. I’m calling her my miracle baby,” she said.
Bookout also revealed to In Touch Magazine that she’s having a girl, and that Bentley has already become protective over his little sister. She says that although she and McKinney have discussed marriage in the past, there are no plans at this time to walk down the aisle.
“Before I got pregnant, we talked heavily about marriage, and we still do, but I don’t wanna be a pregnant bride. That would be way too stressful. Plus, I want to be able to have fun at my wedding,” she said.
The news marks the second big change for a Teen Mom cast member in recent weeks; Catelynn Lowell, who is also expecting her second child, showed off a sparkly new engagement ring on Instagram over Christmas. She and longtime boyfriend Tyler Baltierra are also releasing a book in March that details their struggles over the course of the relationship.
