Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds announced back in October that they were expecting their first child, and now reports have come in that Lively gave birth just before the end of the year near their home in New York.
The actress has said in the past that she would love to have a big family, but the couple have kept relatively to themselves regarding the pregnancy; the sex of the baby and name have not been released to the media. Though the child came a bit early, the family is reported to be doing fine.
“I’m a very shy person. I can be outgoing, but I’m also very private,” Lively said in a 2012 interview with Allure. About that big family: “I’ve always wanted a big family…oh, I’d love 30 if I could.”
Though she’s remained low-profile just recently, Lively did get a shoutout from her Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants costars on Instagram when Amber Tamblyn posted a photo with a caption promising “big things coming”.
According to a source at Us Weekly, Lively and Reynolds will be spending some time in Bedford, New York, where they have a home away from the prying eyes of paparazzi.
“The baby came early but everyone is happy and healthy. The Bedford house is all prepared. They’re going to stay up there for the baby’s first days,” the source said.
