Steve Harvey, host of both The Steve Harvey Show and Family Feud, turns 58 on Saturday. On Friday he was surprised by a number of people during a bash held in his honor on The Steve Harvey Show. The mayor of Cleveland joined in the fun, naming January 17th ‘Steve Harvey Day,’ and the city even renamed the street where he grew up, calling it Steve Harvey Way.

Cameras cutaway to a shot of Harvey’s sister Mona, who stood outside the house where the talk show host grew up.

“We’re here because we love you…If mom and dad were here, dad would be saying, ‘Do you know I’m his daddy?’ and mama would be just shaking her head! We love you, Steve!” Mona said.

Cheerleaders from area schools showed up back on set and cheered for Steve Harvey. Author and philanthropist Alan Fox showed up to surprise him and to donate $200,000 to the Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation. Harvey raises money for his foundation to better the childhoods and the education of many children.

All seven of Steve Harvey’s kids showed up to share in their dad’s big day, causing the 58-year-old to burst into tears. It certainly wasn’t the first time during his celebration either. Harvey experienced many poignant moments throughout the show.

“This is my best TV moment,” he gushed when his kids arrived. “I’m not the person I used to be. It’s not about me anymore…I ain’t working for me. I’m working for them. I’ve got four full-time jobs for them. It’s so that when…when I’m done, I want you all to just have remembered that somebody cared more about you than himself. I want you to care more about someone else than yourself.”

“I will defend your honor until I die. I love all of you,” he said. “This is what it is for me. This is the greatest moment I’ve ever had. I’m very proud to be your father.”

Steve Harvey grew up with very little, but worked hard in order to attain his present-day very comfortable financial status. It seems, however, that he never forgot where he came from or what his parents sacrificed to raise their family.

Happy birthday wishes will likely arrive from all over the country on Saturday for Steve Harvey. He might have a hard time topping Friday’s celebration, however.
