Elizabeth Olsen has reportedly ended her engagement to Boyd Holbrook after a 3-year relationship, and the news comes after a source told Us Weekly that Holbrook was seen flirting with another woman at a pre-Golden Globes fete.
The couple announced their engagement last March and had reportedly moved in together, but Olsen was spotted recently shopping in L.A. with a bare ring finger, sparking rumors of a split.
Elizabeth Olsen told Marie Claire last spring that she was excitedly making plans for the wedding but hadn’t set a date yet, because it was a decision that her sister would factor into; Mary Kate Olsen is engaged to Olivier Sarkozy, whose brother is the former President of France.
“I just told her she gets to pick a date first. Older sisters first!” Elizabeth told the magazine.
The Avengers: Age Of Ultron actress said at the time that she was happy to plan for a wedding celebration.
“I’m relaxed about it, but I am excited and planning ideas because it’s fun. It’s just like throwing a party to celebrate life. I love being in a relationship a lot,” she said.
Elizabeth Olsen co-starred with Holbrook in the film Very Good Girls, which also starred Dakota Fanning and Demi Moore, and reportedly had chemistry with one another right off the bat.
“They met from the first read of their movie together, and there was great chemistry there. It was [filming] in New York, which is where Lizzie is from, so she was able to feel pretty at home,” a source told Us Weekly.
Ashley, Mary Kate, and Elizabeth Olsen have made headlines for years with their fashion choices and movie roles–Elizabeth earned rave reviews for her turn in Martha Marcy May Marlene, in which she played a young woman who had recently escaped a dangerous cult–but in recent years, they have also become known for their relationships. While Mary Kate is often spotted out with Sarkozy–who is much older than she is–Elizabeth reportedly had trouble meeting people outside the business but was reluctant to get into a relationship with another actor.
