Amber Heard and Johnny Depp reportedly took those vows to stay together ’til death do them part on Tuesday in L.A. A bigger wedding is set to take place this weekend on his private island–Little Hall’s Pond Cay–in the Bahamas.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard met back in 2009 on the set of The Rum Diary. They got engaged in 2012, not too long after he and longtime partner Vanessa Paradis split. The former couple share two children–Jack, who is 11, and Lily-Rose, who is 14.

Prior to her engagement to Johnny Depp, Amber Heard openly described herself as bisexual, and was in a relationship with photographer Tasya Van Ree.

Despite their previous relationships, as well their vast age difference–Depp is 51 and Heard is 28–they now seem to be in it for the long haul. Hopefully they last longer than Depp and Paradis, who were together for 14 years.

Rumors had Amber Heard and Johnny Depp splitting up recently, around the time his current film, Mortdecai, hit theaters–even though Heard attended the premiere with him. Given the legalities they just committed to, it’s unlikely there was much truth to those rumors.

It is rather interesting that Heard and Depp decided to get married so soon. It was only back in December when a source said they weren’t in a rush to tie the knot.

“There is no rush to marry at the moment,” the source said. “Johnny is crazy in love with Amber, but there is turmoil in the relationship.”

Was there more to those split rumors that met the eye?

Even if there was, Amber Heard and Johnny Depp are married now. One can only hope they stay together ’til death do them part.
