Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald Go Nuts Picking Wedding Registry Items

Jessa Duggar and future husband Ben Seewald are the next in line to join the massive Duggar family in the baby-making business. But first, they have to make it to the altar.

Of course, as we all know, Jessa and Ben have already famously made it there back on November 1. Their decision not to kiss at their wedding — and the subsequent pictures of them making up for lost time — were all the rage for a while.

But there are two different time frames for reality television:

1) When something actually happens

2) When that thing airs on television

So for purposes of the TLC show 19 Kids and Counting, Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald were still out picking gift registry items for their “upcoming wedding.”

During their shopping excursion, they were looking for items that they could use around the home, as most couples do. Then Ben went off the reservation in the toy section of the store. Ben later explained:

“Me and Justin were walking and I was thinking, ‘All right, what would kids enjoy when they come over to Ben and Jessa’s house?'”

He ended up picking items like candy, dart guns, foam swords, and footballs. There was a logic in his choices, and Jessa didn’t balk too much at them.

When show viewers see the Duggar children inundated with gifts by friends for weddings and baby showers, It might make viewers wonder if gift-giving is the same for them as it is for the rest of us. Will the person giving the gift possibly make it into a shot for the TV show? What if it is bigger gift? Do gift-buyers get bragging rights in their own circle of friends?

“Hey, see that foam sword Ben was looking at in last night’s episode? I bought him that.”

The rest of the registry included items like clothespins, detergent, razors, and pot holders.
