Betty White will be handed yet another award, a Lifetime Achievement award, to add to her already massive collection at next month’s Daytime Emmy Awards.

The 93-year-old actress will be honored for decades of contributions to the world of television.

Since the early 50’s, Betty White has been a favorite on several game shows, as well as many popular sitcoms like The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Golden Girls, and Hot in Cleveland.

Betty White has already won six Emmy Awards, beginning in 1975. She also has two SAG Awards, a People’s Choice Award and has been inducted into the TV academy’s Hall of Fame.

And, of course, Betty White already has a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.

Betty White has definitely earned the honor.

Bob Mauro, president of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, agrees. He said in a statement, “Betty White is an American institution. Betty’s career as a female pioneer has followed television from literally the beginning of the medium, winning her first Emmy Award in 1952, to the digital-streaming future, winning again in 2010.”

He added, “She is one of the most beloved female performers in the history of television and the National Academy is proud to be honoring her with a most well-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award.”

Along with her many performances and appearances on numerous shows throughout the years, there have been some very special experiences for Betty White.

NATAS Senior Vice President of Daytime, David Michaels, said, “Betty White is the First Lady of Game Shows. Betty was the darling of Password, where she met the love of her life, Allen Ludden, and a favorite on Match Game, The $25,000 Pyramid and countless others. She was the first woman to receive an Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show Host in 1983 for the show, Just Men.”

He added, “From her iconic dramatic turn as Ann Douglas on The Bold and the Beautiful to her classic sitcom performances, to her movies and books, Betty is a woman who has excelled in everything she has ever done. She is also one of the nicest women in show business and we are proud to be bestowing this honor on such an exemplary role model for our entire industry.”

Everyone would agree that Betty White has made an enormous contribution to the world of television in her decades-long career.
