Jennifer Lawrence will star in next year’s movie, X-Men: Apocalypse, but the actress has admitted that the film will be her last for that franchise. Lawrence has starred as the blue-skinned mutant Mystique in the series of films since 2011.
It was during a recent interview with MTV that Jennifer Lawrence admitted this was the last time she’d appear in an X-Men film.
“It is my last one, yes,” she said.
Jennifer Lawrence is the second X-Men star to say she’s leaving the franchise. Her ex-boyfriend and costar Nicholas Hoult said during a recent interview with E! News that he, too, would be performing in his role as the Beast for the last time in X-Men: Apocalypse.

It’s uncertain thus far if this upcoming film has plans to write both characters out of the franchise or if someone else will take over both Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult’s roles when the next X-Men film is made. It’s important to remember that Jennifer Lawrence is the second person to play Mystique in the franchise. The role was previously played by Rebecca Romijn. And since Mystique is a shape changer, it wouldn’t be all that difficult to fill Jennifer Lawrence’s shoes.
Will you be checking out both Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult for the last time in their X-Men roles when X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27th of next year?
