Jordana Brewster has a lot to celebrate this weekend with the explosive Thursday night opening of Furious 7, which earned a franchise best $15.8 million in its opening night.
Furious 7 could be on track to beat out The Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 1 opening weekend, which is the biggest box office opening in recent times at $17 million for its opening night.
These are exciting times for Jordana Brewster and the rest of the Fast & Furious family!
However, according to Jordana Brewster, who played Paul Walker’s love interest for almost 15 years during filming of the entire Fast & Furious franchise, the success is bittersweet.
Jordana Brewster recently opened up on Popcorn with Peter Travers about what it was like to meet Paul Walker for the first time.
As a young actress, Jordana Brewster said of their first encounter, “I remember this guy with blond highlights walking into this room, thinking how gorgeous he was.”
Jordana Brewster also talked about Paul Walker as a person.
She said, “He was truly a black belt and I didn’t know that ’til Fast 5. He was just such a humble dude. Not boastful, which is so not Hollywood. That just speaks volumes about him.”
When Paul Walker died in the car accident during a holiday break in the middle of filming Furious 7, Jordana Brewster said she “just couldn’t believe it.”
Jordana Brewster also discussed what it was like on the set of Furious 7 after Paul Walker’s untimely and shocking death.
Jordana Brewster said, “It was very supportive and loving. It wasn’t just about the cast banding together, but also the crew … What was beautiful about the set was everybody tried to maintain a sense of decorum and professionalism, but if one of us lost it suddenly in the makeup chair, we were there to support them.”
