Frank Sinatra sang that love is lovelier the second time around. And it seems to hold true for Jessica Simpson’s mom.
Tina Simpson has recently confirmed that she’s engaged to her longtime boyfriend, landscaper Jon Goldstein.
The 55-year-old mother made the announcement on Instagram, posting a sweet picture of her and Goldstein cuddling on a mountain top, with clouds and a sunny hillside serving as a backdrop.
The photo’s caption and hashtags -“He put a ring on it #intheclouds #gardener4life #loveofmylife” – perfectly captured the moment.
And if Tina’s smile is anything to go by, she’s clearly content and happy with the way her relationship is going.
Tina’s new engagement ring could easily be seen in the photo too, as her left hand was positioned resting over Goldstein’s heart.
The marquise-cut diamond was surrounded by smaller diamonds and set in yellow gold, giving the unique sparkler a vintage feel to it.
Tina’s fiancé Jon Goldstein is a renowned landscaper who owns Johnny Appleseed Landscaping. The successful company counts several high-profile celebrities, as well as the Bel-Air Hotel, as clients.
The couple has known each other for 15 years and according to a family friend, Jon has always been close to the Simpson family. But they only started dating after her divorce from Joe Simpson, her husband of 34 years, was finalized in April 2013.
They were first seen together during Jessica’s second wedding ceremony to Eric Johnson last July 4, 2014.
A source close to Goldstein describes him as “a really nice guy” and someone who “always cared about Tina.”
“He’s so happy she said yes,” the friend said. “I know he had been planning on asking her for a while.”
Tina’s daughters are obviously happy with the development, with an insider confirming that Jessica and Ashlee are “happy that their mom is happy.”
