No, despite what you may have heard, Aaron Paul is not reprising his role as Jesse Pinkman in a Breaking Bad spinoff. That was just a joke. But the actor is returning to the small screen – on Hulu.
Paul will star opposite Michelle Monaghan in the new Hulu drama The Way, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show, from Parenthood‘s Jason Katims and Jessica Goldberg will “examine a family at the center of a controversial faith-based movement struggling with relationships, marriage and power. Each hourlong episode will take an in-depth look at what it means to choose between the life we live and the life we want.”
You can expect the show to start production this summer and land on Hulu in the winter. There will be 10 episodes in the first season.
More plot points from THR:
Paul will portray Eddie Cleary, a supportive husband and long-time member of The Way. Having grown up in a troubled blue-collar household, The Way was his way out. Recently returned from a retreat with other members of movement, Eddie is distant and emotionless, distraught from what he witnessed on the trip. His wife (played by Michelle Monaghan) believes he is having an affair, but Eddie is really sneaking off to meet with a still unknown person who claims to know “the truth” about The Way. Doing his best to keep up appearances and continue to lead his family by following The Way’s teachings, Eddie must face a truth that might destroy everything he believes in.
This past weekend, Paul sent the internet wild with speculation when he tweeted about a “top secret” project.
Can't wait to tell you what this is all about. It's top secret for now but you all will know soon… https://t.co/4sLisSjXUV

He later took to Periscope to reveal the Jesse Pinkman-focused Breaking Bad spinoff. Of course, that wound up being a joke. A really mean joke, at that.
Sorry for the joke everybody. I love you all so much. Hugs and kisses.

While The Way won’t assuage heartbroken BB fans, it does have a lot of star power behind it and is a big project for Hulu.
That’s Hulu, not Hulu Plus. Hulu Plus is no more, as Hulu just made the decision to put everything – it’s free and paid subscription services – under the ‘Hulu’ umbrella.
Aaron Paul has also worked with Netflix. The second season of the critical hit BoJack Horseman hits the streaming platform next month.
