Kim Kardashian West admits that after the much-publicized 2011 breakup with Kris Humphries, she thought the end of her career was imminent.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star encountered a ton of backlash after her marriage to Humphries ended after just 72 days. She said in an interview with The Drum that she really thought her career would not survive the media backlash.

“When I was going through the divorce I did say to everyone, ‘You guys, I think our careers are over. I hope you’ve saved your money. And now we’ll just continue to do our clothing stores and what we started off doing before the show. I totally thought it was over,” Kim said.

Kim Kardashian West, 34, said she became “very paranoid” and decided to take a little down time to let the media frenzy die down.

“The time was really good for me,” she said. “I cancelled everything. I had a book tour, I had a fragrance launch, I had everything that you could possibly imagine and I just cancelled it all and I took time for me.”

Little did Kim know, but her career would only continue to blossom. Her gaming app, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, is expected to garner $200 million this year. She said it was husband Kanye West that encouraged her to pursue her latest endeavor.

“My husband does only everything that he is one billion percent passionate about and he had seen me work on so many things that were a little bit all over the place,” Kim Kardashian explained. “I wanted more focus and I respect him and his opinion and I asked him, ‘What do you think of this video game – do you think I should do it?’ and he said, ‘You have to do this.'”
