Kate Gosselin seems to be learning one of life’s great secrets: With age sometimes comes calm.

That secret is coming out just in time for Kate Gosselin, who has rightly earned a reputation for being a terrifying, overbearing control freak.

Kate Gosselin has been this way since we’ve known her, and some have suggested that her personality could be one of the many reasons that lead to her explosive divorce from Jon Gosselin.

But, these days Kate Gosselin, who just turned 40, is taking it all in stride.

On Tuesday’s episode of Kate Plus 8, Kate Gosselin showcased a less stressed version of her former self when planning and carrying out her 11-year-old sextuplets’ birthday party.

Yep, a birthday party for six kids. It included a double slumber party. If there has ever been a stressful event, that would be it.

But, Kate Gosselin said, “I am relaxing, chilling out. And I can tell that about myself. I kind of laugh at myself.”

She added, “Things that used to really send me over the edge, now I’m just like, ‘Hey, whatever.’ I just can’t be spending my energy on the meltdown of the century every time something little happens.”

So true. It’s too bad Kate Gosselin didn’t learn this years ago.

Unfortunately, Kate Gosselin seemed to have gotten a little over her head in planning a “progressive” birthday party for her sextuplets. Her plans included skating, a pizza joint, and cake and ice cream at the hotel where she would be hosting a double boys/girls sleepover.

Oh my goodness. I don’t think, okay, I know I couldn’t handle that!

Even the new chill Kate Gosselin seemed daunted.

She said, “I think I fooled myself into thinking that this was going to be a low-key party and it meant less work. Oh no, it wasn’t less work.”
