Brody Jenner chatted with E! News recently about Caitlyn Jenner, saying he gets along with her much better than when his dad identified as Bruce Jenner. In fact, Brody Jenner and his father Bruce were once estranged.

“I’ve known Bruce a long time, and I didn’t really get along with Bruce,” he said. “Caitlyn I get along a little more because Caitlyn is actually who she really is, and she’s living her life finally now as the person she always was.”

Bruce and Brody Jenner’s estrangement was played out on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. He now speaks of his dad–now known as Caitlyn–with respect and admiration.

“It’s incredible,” Brody said. “I think that it’s probably one of the most historical things that happened in a long time. The fact that Caitlyn won the Olympics… Caitlyn is a much freer, happier person. And I think that’s very special and I think the most important thing is that the people who are in that situation — don’t be afraid to be yourself. And if you’re not accepted by your family there will be people out there that will accept you.”

Meanwhile Caitlyn Jenner recently attended her first NYC Pride Parade and events associated with the celebration.

Don’t you imagine it’s likely Caitlyn and Brody Jenner get along better than Brody and Bruce did because she is now the person she is meant to be–and is no longer battling the turmoil Bruce Jenner suffered for the better part of a lifetime?

Kudos to Brody Jenner for his acceptance of Caitlyn and his willingness to give their relationship a wholehearted try.
