Corey Taylor, frontman for Slipknot, said in a recent interview that Kanye West needs to come down a peg or two.
The musician told Music Choice that West–who reportedly recently called himself the “greatest living rock star on the planet” at a music festival that spawned a petition to get him kicked off the roster–is like the guy who brags about how much sex he’s having.
Kanye, you are not — not — the greatest living rock star of all time. The fact that you had to tell people that kind of says it all. You remind me of the guy who brags about p–sy. They never get as much as they brag about,” Taylor said.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Kanye has made an inflated statement about his talents, and it probably won’t be the last. His appearance at the Glastonbury festival earlier this month riled many concert-goers, who started a petition to replace him with a rock band instead.
Taylor made headlines earlier this year when he did a cover of the Beastie Boys classic “Sabotage” at a show with Korn and said during a fan question-and-answer session that they’d talked about doing something fun together while they were doing the Summer’s Last Stand tour.
“Well, me and Jonathan did not come up with that idea, actually. That was (Korn bassist) Fieldy’s idea. We had been kinda joking about doing something together at one of the shows, and Fieldy was, like, ‘Why don’t we just do ‘Sabotage’?’ We all kinda dug it, we got together, we jammed it out, and the rest is history. So, good on you, Field,” Corey Taylor said.
