Candis Cayne is Caitlyn Jenner’s new BFF. And while some folks think there is more going on between the two, it seems they’re strictly very close girlfriends.
Appearing at the ESPY Awards in support of Caitlyn Jenner, there was no PDA. A source tells HollywoodLife, however, that the emotional connection is palpable.
“You could see they had a very emotional connection with each other,” the source said. “It felt like they were twins. They were finishing each other’s sentences and talking about the same things at the same time. It was very interesting. Candis is definitely on I Am Cait and will be featured quite a bit throughout the season.”
Candis Cayne was born Brendan McDaniel, along with a twin brother. She knew from a very young age that she and her brother differed greatly.

“Ever since we were babies, we were completely opposite. He did football, basketball and soccer. He was into music like guitar. He was definitely a jock, and I was taking dance class,” Cayne said in a recent interview with People magazine.
Candis Cayne was the first transgender actress to portray a trans character on primetime TV in the U.S. In 2007 she played the role of a transgender woman who had an affair with a character played by William Baldwin on the ABC series Dirty Sexy Money.
Caitlyn Jenner serves as an example for young transgender males and females in today’s society. Candis Cayne served as an example of transgender actors gracing TV screens. It’s no wonder the two have a strong bond and an emotional connection.
