Jennifer Garner took some time to bring joy to young cancer patients amid the heartbreak of her split from Ben Affleck.
Instead of focusing on the drama, Jennifer is putting her energy into work and spreading hope and love to others.
During a break from filming Miracles in Heaven in Atlanta, Georgia, this week, Garner, 43, stopped by Scottish Rite hospital with costar Kylie Rogers to spend some time with patients in the pediatric cancer ward.
According to Us Weekly, one of the families Garner spent time with was the Shepherds, whose son, Henry Shepherd, 9, is being treated with penultimate chemotherapy for Osteosarcoma, a bone cancer.
“It was a complete surprise. One of the nurses brought her to our door and she walked right in,” Carrie Shepherd said of the visit.
Henry got a kick out of talking to Garner about her 2014 comedy, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.

“We were talking about the party at the end of the movie, and Henry said when he is cancer-free, he wants a party just like that,” Shepherd’s mom said “Henry told her that, and when she walked out she said, ‘Henry, I hope you get your party.'”
Carrie Shepherd had nothing but great things to say about Jennifer Garner.

“She was really sweet, down-to-earth, and very genuine,” Shepherd said. “It certainly lifted the patients’ [spirits], and I think everyone was very thrilled to meet her.”
Meanwhile, Jennifer Garner is focusing on work with costars Queen Latifah and Martin Henderson on her latest film, which is based on the book Three Miracles From Heaven by Christy Beam.
