Leah Calvert is heading to rehab on MTV’s hit series Teen Mom 2. In the most recent episode, Calvert says goodbye to her daughters as she heads out for a month away from them.

In a conversation with her mother about her addiction and the need for rehab, Calvert explains how she got to this point.

“I have to leave my babies for a month, and I haven’t cried yet,” Calvert told Dawn Spears. “I know I have to do this for them. I know I do, because the person I used to be, the happy person I used to be, is fading away.”

Calvert explained that her painkiller addiction problems began after she gave birth to her daughter Adalynn in 2013. She ws legally prescribed painkillers because of back problems.

“When I was hurting so bad, I’d take the medication, because I could get up and go. I could take care of my kids. My back wasn’t hurting,” she says. “I told you guys, ‘I’ve got this medication. I feel like I’m becoming dependent. I can’t take this medication.’ I stopped taking the medication.”

Calvert knows she needs help with her dependency, so she is heading to get it.

Calvert says, “That person I know I could be – and I will be again – is just crying for help inside me.”

Calvert’s story has bee one of sadness and setbacks. Her first children were twins, one of which suffers from Titin muscular dystrophy, a very rare form of the disorder that has only ever been found in adults.

After that, she suffered a miscarriage, then finally had Adalynn in 2013.

Calvert’s castmate on Teen Mom 2, Jenelle Evans, has had drama of her own. Her ex-fiancé Nathan Griffith was discovered to have had an Ashley Madison account.

“Once a cheater, always a cheater,” Evans said of her ex. “I think he embarrasses himself and whoever associated with him, especially the girl he’s with now because supposedly she doesn’t believe in sex before marriage. But Nathan does.”
