I have to say, when Google changed its logo earlier this week, the first thing I thought when I saw the new “G” was that it looked like a more colorful version of Groupon’s “G”.
Apparently Groupon itself felt the same way. On Thursday, Groupon tweeted this:
We'll send you a bill for using our logo, @Google. $7 billion sound good?
Or, let's trade. http://t.co/kzyxjdUsjB pic.twitter.com/L8PdWkjmhA

Groupon has always had a wonderful sense of humor. Clearly that didn’t go away with former CEO Andrew Mason.
Danny Sullivan got in this zinger:
@groupon but didn't @google offer $6 billion already? http://t.co/TQn4VCDeWy is this an adjustment for inflation 🙂

That’s a reference to when Google offered to buy Groupon for $6 billion in 2010. Obviously Groupon turned that down.
