Rachelle Bond is the mother of “Baby Doe,” the little girl found in a trash bag on Boston’s Deer Island beach earlier this summer. Last week “Baby Doe” was identified as not-quite three-year-old Bella Bond. Her mom, Rachelle Bond, was arrested as an accessory after the fact and for trying to cover up her daughter’s murder. Her boyfriend, Michael McCarthy, is accused of murder.
Joe Amoroso was Bella Bond’s biological father. He doesn’t believe Rachelle Bond was involved in any way in Bella’s murder.

“I know with all my heart that Rachelle would never do anything to hurt anybody,” Amoroso told NBC affiliate WHDH in Boston. “I was with the woman. This is the mother of my child.”
Rachelle Bond has a lengthy arrest record and her rights to her two older children were terminated by state welfare workers. Bella Bond was under the watchful eye of the state for neglect, but the case wound up closed.

Joe Amoroso may wish to defend Rachelle Bond, but the truth is he’s been in Florida, having just returned to Boston in August.
Rachelle Bond might not have murdered her little girl, but it certainly doesn’t sound like she did much to prevent her boyfriend from doing so. She also didn’t contact authorities after Michael McCarthy killed Bella.
Does Joe Amoroso’s defense of Rachelle Bond count for anything?
It seems like the guy simply wanted his 15 minutes of fame on Boston TV.
