Bindi Irwin enjoyed an exciting night Monday, as she stepped out for her first formal appearance with boyfriend Chandler Powell. The two walked the Dancing With the Stars red carpet to a barrage of camera flashes.

Even with suffering an earlier foot injury, Bindi Irwin did a beautiful job competing on Dancing With the Stars Monday evening, scoring all eights. She and pro partner Derek Hough are magical on the dance floor.

It was Bindi Irwin’s personal life that had fans even more excited on Monday night, however. They were thrilled to see her with her first-ever boyfriend.

It was back in July that Bindi made it official, saying she and wakeboarder Chandler Powell were a couple.

Backstage at Dancing With the Stars, Bindi Irwin shared poignant thoughts about her dad, the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin.

“I feel closest to my dad when I’m with my family,” she told the media. “It’s when I see my family in the audience that I really feel like, I hope that Dad would be proud ,but I feel like that he’s still with us. It’s so much fun to be able to get out on the dance floor and just pour your heart and soul into something. That’s something I try to do everyday in my life. This is something that I can really, really dedicate myself to. I hope that he’d be proud of me, and having my family along with me is just the greatest gift.”

Bindi Irwin has followed in her famous dad’s footsteps. In addition to wowing fans on the ballroom floor at DWTS, Bindi is an avid conservationist–working alongside mom Terri Irwin at the Australia Zoo to carry on Steve Irwin’s work.

Yes, the Crocodile Hunter is no doubt looking down on Bindi Irwin with great pride. His little girl is all grown up, gorgeous with her first-ever boyfriend, and making a new name for herself as a Dancing With the Stars contender.
