Periscope Gives Websites Way To Let Visitors Know When They’re Broadcasting

If your business uses Twitter’s recently launched live streaming service Periscope (or plans to give it a shot at some point in the future), you’ll be happy to know that you now have an easy way to alert your website visitors when you’re live.

As reported earlier by The Next Web, there’s a new “On Air” button, which Periscope now features on nits website. The button comes in large and small sizes for you to place on your own site. The page says:

Periscope lets you embed profiles anywhere on the web. The Periscope On Air Button displays the user’s live status and username. The special thing about the widget is that it comes to life when you’re LIVE!

Clicking the button will open a new window displaying the user’s profile page. If the user is LIVE when the profile page loads, their broadcast will automatically start playing.

Periscope launched web profiles last month, enabling people to go to periscope.tv/username to see all recent broadcasts from that user.
