A former Miss Austria met an unfortunate and sudden death after falling from the side of a mountain during her daily jog.

Twenty-six-year-old Ena Kadic had been jogging on Friday along the Bergisel Mountain in the Alps when she accidentally fell 100 feet to the steep ravine of the Sill River.

Shortly before Kadic lost consciousness, she was able to call her brother to inform him of the fall. Kadic was found by two students during a search with the Austrian beauty’s mother.

Rescuers arrived on the scene to give her first aid, but quickly brought her to a hospital in Innbruck via helicopter. Her condition remained critical until she finally succumbed to the multiple complications brought about by her grave injuries. She suffered serious head trauma as well as injuries to her lungs and pelvis before the passed away.

Authorities have launched an investigation to find out the reason for her fall. Kadic was reported to have been very familiar with the trail from where she had fallen and jogged there regularly.

Local police spokesman Stefan Eder said, “We don’t know exactly where she fell from. She could have fallen from the viewing platform or she could have fallen from the mountainside.”

Even though they have no reason to believe that there was foul play involved in the incident, police officials still plan to carry on with the investigation.

“There are no indications of foul play or that this was a suicide attempt,” Kontrollinspektor Eder added.

Kadic took the title of Miss Austria in 2013 and represented her country in the Miss World competition in that same year.

She was born in Bosnia, but spent her childhood and adult life in Austria.
