Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford have been doing good morning television for the last eight years, but no one can forget Kathie Lee Gifford’s time on the small screen with Regis Philbin.
Kathie Lee was joined by Hoda Kotb and Regis Philbin before her big Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame induction on Tuesday.
Clearly, Kathie Lee Gifford has been very successful with both co-hosts, but during an interview with ET, Hoda Kotb and Regis Philbin got into it a little over who Kathie Lee’s best co-host really is.
Philbin joked, “Fifteen years together she was incredible. Now eight years with this one [indicating Hoda Kotb], and so-so, you know?”
Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee have won a couple of Emmys for their handling of Today.
And boy, if she was ever quick to point it out.
Hoda Kotb then got serious about her co-host and very close friend.
Hoda Kotb said of Kathie Lee, “I think that every now and then someone steps in your life and completely changes it.”
She added, “Every year, I tell Kath that she totally changed my life. I had a nice life. I thought it was nice. I didn’t know how extraordinary it could be since I met Kath.”
She continued, “She’s the only person who could laugh like she laughs through tears like nobody’s business. And by the way, it’s not what she says, it’s what she does. That’s what you have to watch with Kath. It’s what she does, and it’s extraordinary.”
What sweet words Hoda Kotb had for her friend!
Do you think Kathie Lee is better with Hoda Kotb or was she at her best with Regis?
