Marty Ingels, Actor and Shirley Jones’ Husband Dies at 79

Marty Ingels, the actor and comedian best known for his role in the 1960s show I’m Dickens, He’s Fenster, has died.

Her was 79.

Ingels was married to actress and singer Shirley Jones. The two tied the knot in 1977.

According to a statement from Jones, Ingels died of complications of a stroke.

Jones also issued a sweet statement about her late husband.

“He often drove me crazy, but there’s not a day I won’t miss him and love him to my core,” she said.

Ingels also appeared on episodes of Bewitched, The Dick Van Dyke Show, and The Love Boat, as well as a dozen or so films. His catalog includes The Horizontal Lieutenant (1962), Wild and Wonderful (1964), The Busy Body (1967), The Picasso Summer (1969), If It’s Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium (1969), Linda Lovelace for President (1975), and Instant Karma (1990).

In 1990, Ingels and Jones published an autobiography titled Shirley & Marty: An Unlikely Love Story.
