Joey + Rory, the country music duo known for not just country–but bluegrass and Christian music, too–announced this week that they are canceling the remainder of their 2015 Farmhouse concert tour. Joey Feek, wife to Rory, has opted to stop treatments for cervical cancer.
A statement posted to the Feek’s website explains.
“It is with great regret that we must cancel our November and December Joey + Rory Farmhouse Concert dates effective immediately due to Joey’s health,” the statement reads. “Thank you for your understanding and prayers.”
The first round of chemotherapy for Joey’s Stage IV cervical cancer was ineffective. The couple has opted for her not to undergo any further treatments as a CT scan this week found tumors have spread to her abdomen.
“Sometimes there just aren’t enough surgeries–or doctors–or chemotherapies–or prayers,” Rory Feek wrote on his blog. “And you have to wipe the tears from your cheeks and say the words that you were hoping to never have to say…Enough.”
“We came home. Not to die. But to live,” he added. “To put our hands in each others and sit out on the back porch and watch the sun set as our sweet little baby girl plays on a blanket in front of us. To bask in the glory of the beautiful life He’s blessed us with, and try not to question why we can’t have more of it together. And why He is allowing this to happen.”
Joey + Rory wed in 2002. They have a daughter–Indiana Boon Feek–who was born in February of 2014.

This heartbreaking news has no doubt hit the country music world hard. Kudos to Joey + Rory for canceling the remainder of their tour dates and putting their time together as a family first.
Surely people all over the country will answer Joey + Rory’s request for prayers.
Joey Feek is just 40 years old.
