Diane Lane is set to star opposite Liam Neeson in Felt, a new thriller about Watergate whistle-blower “Deep Throat” Mark Felt.
“The true identity of the secret informant remained a mystery and source of much public curiosity and speculation for more than 30 years,” a press release said. “That is until, in 2005, special agent Mark Felt shockingly revealed himself as the tipster. This unbelievable true story chronicles the personal and professional life of the brilliant and uncompromising Felt, who risked and ultimately sacrificed everything–his family, his career, his freedom–in the name of justice.”

Playing the role of Audrey Felt, Diane Lane’s character is said to be “ambitious and troubled.” Audrey “shoulders the burden of Felt’s isolated and dangerous struggle against the White House.”
Transporting viewers back to the 1970s, Liam Neeson and Diane Lane will recreate the steps Mark Felt took while helping reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein follow the Watergate break-in that eventually led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon.
Production is scheduled to begin in March.
