Vanessa Hudgens, Julianne Hough and Aaron Tveit were captured in a first look for People magazine of their characters for the much-anticipated Grease: Live, which hits the small screen in January.
The special, which will air from 7 to 10 p.m. on each coast (tape-delayed in the Pacific time zone), features Dancing With the Stars judge Julianne Hough as the Sandy, which was portrayed in the 1978 film made famous by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. High School Musical alum Vanessa Hudgens stars Rizzo, and Broadway vet Tveit plays Danny Zuko.

Although not yet scene in any stills, DWTS final four competitor Carlos PenaVega will play Kenickie.
Danny and Sandy are pictured after she ditches the goody-two-shoes look, but a shot of Hough decked out in Sandy’s iconic cardigan/poodle skirt combo is just too adorable.

“Grease is one of the movies that made me want to be an entertainer, and I have literally been waiting my whole life to play Sandy,” Hough said after it was announced that she was cast in the role of Sandy. “My siblings and I watched it and played it out over and over when we were kids. This is my dream role and performing it live on television will be one of the most thrilling opportunities I’ve had in my career so far.”
Grease: Live airs Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016 at 7 p.m. on Fox.
