An NBC report explains that on November 27, an abandoned vehicle was reported in Grand County, Utah. Although it was registered to an individual in San Clemente, California, authorities there determined the car had been driven by Kristin Cavallari’s brother.
Credit card transactions led investigators to a convenience store in Monticello, Utah, where security footage showed Michael Cavallari as the driver of the vehicle.
Grand County Sheriff Steven White told the Deseret News the car appeared to have hit a large rock on the side of the road. The vehicle was running when found, and the air bag had deployed. Michael Cavallari’s laptop and cell phone were also found inside, according to police.
