Demi Lovato is “Confident,” but even that didn’t help her on Friday evening when she took a tumble on stage during Z100 iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball in New York City. That confidence did, however, allow her to brush herself off with nothing more than a shrug and continue with her performance.

It was near the end of Demi Lovato’s 20-minute set when she tripped over a mic stand that the mishap took place. The cameras captured every second of the situation during the live-streamed concert.
The singer took to Twitter to dish about her spill after the show.
Guys don't you get it by now? Only cool kids fall on stage……. ?

Earlier on Friday, Demi Lovato was honored at the Billboard’s Women in Music luncheon in New York City. She received the inaugural “Rulebreaker” Award, which fits the “Cool for the Summer” singer perfectly.
“It’s not intentional and that’s what’s awesome–people see it,” she said as she accepted her award. “I’m excited to show people you can be yourself and people will appreciate it.”
Demi Lovato has long been honest with herself as well as with her fans. She opened up about her treatment for addiction and an eating disorder, and she has been vocal about loving oneself regardless of body type or size.

This kind of honesty is why Demi Lovato can fall on stage and not cringe from embarrassment–even if it happens in front of a multitude of fans. She knows she’s human, and human beings slip up every now and then.
Kudos to Demi Lovato on her award and on picking herself up and brushing herself off–both literally and figuratively. She sets a fine example for young women everywhere.
