Google announced a new feature for Inbox by Gmail that lets users share “Trip Bundles” with their friends and family with a single tap.
Bundles are one of the differentiating feature of Inbox compared to Gmail and other web mail products. It “bundles” related messages together to give you a better overall picture of the subject at hand. Trip bundles obviously group together content related to a trip.
Google software engineer Victor Anchidin writes on the Gmail blog:
The holidays are full of traveling, get-togethers and sharing memories. Now Inbox is making all of these things a bit easier, with an update to Trip Bundles and mobile attachments.
You’ve told us how much you love that Trip Bundles summarize all of the important info about your trip. So, starting this week, you’ll be able to share those summaries with friends and family with one tap.
The feature will also now let you add emails to a trip using the Move To menu. Google says this has been a top feature request. You can also view trips offline so you can access it while on a plan or with a poor connection.
In addition to the new Trip Bundle features, Inbox now has improved mobile photo attachments enabling you to quickly access recent photos and attach more than once at a time.
