Joey And Rory: Joey Got Her Wish To Live Until Christmas

Joey and Rory Feek have been sharing their bittersweet goodbye via social media for a while now and Christmas was no exception.

Joey Feek of Joey and Rory entered hospice care last month after stopping treatments for stage IV cervical cancer in October, when the treatments were deemed ineffective.

Back in November, Rory wrote that Joey was hoping to see Christmas and even possibly see their daughter, Indiana’s, second birthday in February.

Joey got her first wish. Joey and Rory did celebrate Christmas together on Friday, surrounded by many friends and family.

Joey and Rory shared a photo of the happy gathering via Facebook:

…celebrating Christmas with Joey, surrounded by family. The best gift of all. Thank you Lord.

A week earlier, Joey and Rory got a surprise visit from a very real-looking Santa Clause.

Joey and Rory were kind enough to share those pics for us to enjoy, as well.

Rory wrote, “When the presents were opened and his work was through, Santa found a spot next to Joey and made himself at home – just like an old friend. He said he knew our music (I had no idea Santa was a country music fan) and was a little nervous about coming to see us this evening – not knowing what to expect – or if Joey would be up for their visit.”

He added, “But I think once he saw my bride sitting on the couch and smiling when he came in, and enjoying the evening… he settled in and hopefully had as good a time as we did.”

A nation is hoping that Joey and Rory will get their second wish-for Joey to see Indiana turn two.
