Joy Mangano, who is portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence in the film Joy, is responsible for several items featured on HSN, and sold into homes much like yours.

Her lucrative career began in 1990, when her self-wringing Miracle Mop changed many people’s lives. Joy Mangano went on to create even more innovative, but practical household items. You might even own one or more of them today.

Besides the Miracle Mop, Mangano is known for creating Huggable Hangers, My Little Steamer, The Organize-It-All Beauty Case, The MemoryCloud Warm & Cool Pillow, and more.

Joy opened on Christmas Day, and already there is Oscar buzz about Jennifer Lawrence in her role as Joy Mangano. The film concentrates on her mop invention, and how the item that started her success was the catalyst for the life she lives today.

Joy Mangano recently spoke with the Huffington Post about her life as an inventor.

“I see the world through product,” she said. “I could be walking and see someone struggling with a product and my brain just stops. How can I make someone’s life a little easier, a little more stylish?”

Do you own any of Joy Mangano’s inventions, sold on HSN?
