Idris Elba received two nominations for tonight’s Golden Globes, but he has been ordered to skip the event.
Why?
“On doctor’s orders [he] can not get on a plane to attend the Golden Globes,” a rep for Idris Elba tells Entertainment Tonight.

The actor, nominated for Best Actor in a TV Movie or Limited Series for his role in Luther, as well as for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for Beasts of No Nation, hurt his back and his doctor won’t allow him to travel.
Fans of Idris Elba can at the very least look forward to his appearance at the Screen Actors Guild Awards at the end of the month.

Harrison Ford is filling in for Elba, who was also on tap to serve as one of the evening’s presenters.
Fans will no doubt miss Idris Elba at the Golden Globes. Do you expect he will win either of the categories for which he is nominated?
