Pinterest is sharing some pinning trends based on user gender. This follows data they shared last month about search trends by country.

“Any guesses on what men vs. women are up to on Pinterest? We looked at trending searches between the sexes so far this year, and found a few surprises and some common ground,” the company says.

The top trends for men include: Paleo ideas, Pocket squares, Nutri Ninja smoothie recipes, Superbowl snackadiums, Luxe watches, Ultralight backpacking meals, Outdoor travel hacks, Airstream campers, Off the grid cabins, and Barndominiums.

For women, the trends are: Budget friendly travel with kids, New Zealand, Glamping, Food in mugs, Going minimalist, Cozy PJs, DIY beauty tips, Minty home Decor, Outdoor wear 101, and How to rock a leather midi skirt.

They also shared the top pins across men and women together.

“The one thing everyone has in common? Planning good ideas for the new year, whether it’s getting healthy, getting organized or getting out in nature,” it says.

Other top trends for combined genders: Easy Valentine’s Day ideas, Cold weather slow cooker recipes, Soup, Spice storing hacks, Bar cart essentials, The Feng Shui Bagua map, The Amalfi Coast, Affordable honeymoon spots, Home gym ideas, and Kids art display ideas.

Very soon, any U.S. business will be able to buy Promoted Pins. As that becomes the case, trends will be worth paying attention to.
