Jessica Alba juggles a lot. In addition to her acting career, she is a businesswoman, a wife, and a mom of two girls.
In the February issue of Better Homes and Gardens (check out Jessica Alba’s gorgeous cover shot), the Sin City actress shares how she manages to get it all done.

“My kids are my top priority,” Jessica Alba says. “Their health and well-being come first.”
Alba explains how she grew up as a “very sick kid,” suffering from asthma and allergies, and was frequently hospitalized. That’s a huge part of why she is so health-conscious today.
“I’m healthy, but I don’t go to extremes,” she says. “I exercise for my mental health, but can mow through a box of cookies with the best of them.”
“We love, love, love to cook, and family dinner is mandatory Friday through Sunday,” Jessica Alba continues. “I wish I had more time from Monday to Thursday to make dinner, but the truth is, we rely on healthy food delivery when we have to.”
Alba has spent years teaching her children the importance of being ecologically conscientious. That lesson carries through to her business world through the co-founding of her consumer goods company, The Honest Company, in 2011.
“I try to teach my girls by doing,” she says. “We fill water bottles instead of buying new ones, recycle and talk about what products are safe and unsafe for them and the earth.”

Children learn far more–and with longer-lasting results, too–when taught the way Jessica Alba teachers her girls. When parents set good examples for their children, they don’t often have to preach or lecture.
Kudos to Jessica Alba for setting such a good example for her children–not just in the way they are good stewards for the earth, but in caring for her mental health, too.
It seems that despite her wealth and her obligations, Jessica Alba does indeed put her children first.
