The Arizona shooting on Friday that cost two teenagers their lives has been deemed a murder-suicide.

Two 15-year-old girls died at Independence High School in Glendale this morning.

ABC News reports Glendale Police Officer Tracey Breeden says a suicide note was discovered at the scene.

Officer Breeden spoke to the media earlier on Friday as well, when news of the Arizona school shooting first made news.

“It’s a tragic incident,” she said at the time.

“We don’t believe there are any outstanding suspects,” she added. “These two young women were found next to each other. There was a weapon found beside them.”

Following the Arizona school shooting, parents were asked to stay away from the high school, but to pick their children up at a nearby Walmart instead.

“Parents will be notified by email when students are released,” the district said in a Facebook post.

Governor Doug Ducey issued a statement in the wake of Friday’s Arizona school shooting.

“As details of this morning’s tragic shooting continue to be released, our hearts remain with the students, educators and families of Independence High School and the entire Glendale community,” he said.

The names of the two teens who died earlier on Friday have yet to be announced.
