Canadian singer/songwriter Nelly Furtado is not receiving rave reviews for her performance of her country’s national anthem – and that’s putting it mildly.
Furtado’s rendition of “O Canada” at Sunday night’s NBA All0Star game is the talk of the internet, and is being universally panned.
Check it out:
What makes it worse is that Furtado’s performance was preceded by a very good version of “The Star-Spangled Banner” from R&B artist Ne-Yo.
Twitter is being pretty harsh on Furtado:
Is Nelly Furtado having a breakdown?
That's about the worst performance of the Canadian Anthem I've ever heard…— Michael Wilbon (@RealMikeWilbon) February 15, 2016

Listening to Nelly Furtado sing the national anthem was like having hemorrhoids in your ears and a cat using them as a scratching post.

Nelly Furtado should have brought in this guy to accompany her for O'Canada #yazzflute pic.twitter.com/eMsLHAB49z

Nelly Furtado had 10 years to warm up her vocals…she has no excuse for that performance ?

Either Furtado hasn’t checked the reviews or she doesn’t care.:

So what do you think? Butchered national anthem? Or internet overreaction?
