Dr. Luke, the producer currently embattled in a court case with singer Kesha, took to social media this week to talk a little about the case and defend himself against the allegations leveled against him, as well as the comments from supporters of the pop star.
Luke–whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald–is accused of sexually, verbally, physically, and emotionally abusing Kesha for years, and the artist has attempted to get a judge to release her from her contract with him. However, the judge recently denied her request, sending fans, friends, and several people in the music industry to reach out to her in support.
Dr. Luke said on Twitter this week that Kesha’s accusations are motivated by money, and vehemently denied ever having abused her in any way.
“They are getting behind an allegation only – motivated by money. I didn’t rape Kesha and I have never had sex with her. Kesha and I were friends for many years and she was like my little sister,” he wrote.
Dr. Luke also commented on the judgments leveled against him in the wake of Kesha’s court appearances, saying that he didn’t want to get into the story on social media but now feels he has to speak out.
“Until now I haven’t commented on the lawsuits, which should be resolved in court not here on Twitter. It’s a shame that there’s so much speculation out there basing itself on so little information. The only truly objective person who knows the facts is the judge. The judge did not rule in Kesha’s favor on Friday. I understand why people without all the information are speaking out. I can appreciate their compassion. But lives can get ruined when there’s a rush to judgment before all the facts come out.”
Several other musicians have come forward in support of Kesha, including Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, and Taylor Swift, who reportedly gave the singer $250,000 to help with her legal fees. However, Luke says that Kesha’s lawyer has represented both Chris Brown and Scott Peterson, while he himself was raised by a feminist and knows how to be respectful of women.
Mark Geragos (kesha's attorney) represented Scott Peterson and Chris Brown. How can he pretend he cares about women's rights?

Kesha tells a different story, however, and as early as 2014 she was beginning to reveal some of the story, telling fans in letters while she was in rehab for an eating disorder that Dr. Luke was to blame after the emotional abuse she suffered at his hands.
