Zayn Malik debuted a new tattoo on Friday. The former One Direction singer got his face inked.

Us Weekly reports the new tattoo is of a bird–possibly a phoenix–raising its wings to fly. The bird has a ribbon wrapped around it that reads “M.O.M.”

Zayn Malik took to Instagram to share a photo of his new facial art.

“Like I would,” he captioned the photo.

While most everyone’s first thought upon viewing Zayn Malik’s new tattoo is that it’s dedicated to his mom, it’s possible that everyone is wrong. Since his upcoming album–the first since leaving One Direction–is called “Mind of Mine,” some suspect that might be where “M.O.M.” comes from instead.

Zayn Malik’s album, “Mind of Mine,” comes out on March 25, which is one year to the day since he left One Direction.
