Batman v. Superman actor Ben Affleck has finally spoken out about the revealing details of Jennifer Garner’s interview with Vanity Fair back in February.

Affleck, 43, spoke with the New York Times and said that for the longest time, Garner, 43, had wanted to come out, speak, and then move on.

“She felt like she wanted to discuss it and get it out there and get it over with so she could say, ‘Look, I already talked about it — I don’t want to do it again,’” he said in the interview.

The American actor and filmmaker also said that he is totally fine with what his ex-wife said in the interview, and that she’s “allowed to talk about it.”

Affleck then complimented Jennifer and described her as a “great person,” adding that they are both on good terms.

The actor’s response came as a surprise as he usually refuses to make comments about such issues, especially about his personal life. He has since loathed giving interviews because he thinks that some offhand remarks will end up “in the great miasma of junk on the Internet.”

Interestingly, the interview with Affleck was supposed to take place a day after the interview with Garner was released. However, the Pearl Harbor actor rescheduled due to a headache.

In the interview with Vanity Fair, Jennifer Garner dismissed rumors that the real reason for the divorce was their nanny, Christine Ouzounian, 28, and clarified that they already had problems before that.

The actress explained that through those 10 years of being married to Affleck, she really felt the sun shining on her. However, when that light faded and focused elsewhere, she felt very “cold.”

Despite the divorce, the two are still good friends, and working together to raise their three kids: Violet, 10, Seraphina, 7, and Samuel, 4.
