Twitter is still the leading social platform for one-to-many worldwide communication with over 14.5 million #EURO2016 tweets last night. Portugal defeated France to become #EURO2016 champions. Many of the players themselves posted on Twitter about the game to their millions of fans, especially fan favorite Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Since the tournament began a month ago, we’ve seen more than 109 million Tweets related to #EURO2016,” stated Barthélemy Collin (@MagicBarth), in charge of the Sports Partnerships of Twitter France. “Discussion around #PORFRA didn’t just take place within the two nations, it was a truly global moment.”
