WhatsApp Improves Polls, Adds Captions to File Sharing

WhatsApp announced updates to its messaging app, adding new polling features and the ability to add captions to shared files.

According to the company, the new version of WhatsApp will feature three improvements to polls. Users can now create single-vote polls that will prevent users from logging multiple choices.

Users will also be able to search their chats for polls they haven’t had the opportunity to respond to. At the same time, users who create polls will be notified when people respond.

The app will also support including a caption when sending an image or other file.

Now, when you forward media that has a caption, you have the option to keep, delete or completely rewrite it to give extra information when sharing photos between chats. You can also add a caption to photos and videos when you forward them.

Just like when sharing images or videos, the documents you share may require a little explanation. Whether it’s when sending a newspaper article or a work document, now you have the option to add a caption before sharing.

The new features are relatively minor but should offer some nice quality-of-life improvements.
