Google has launched a new Chrome extension for Android users called "Chrome to Phone". What it does is allow you to easily send a link from your desktop to your Android phone.

So, for example, if you wanted to look up driving directions on Google Maps on your computer and then take them with you via your Android phone, you could use this extension to do so. You could also get a phone number from the web and send that to your phone.

The Android app that you download will actually open with your dialer and then number ready to go. That could be quite useful.

The following clip shows you how to use it:

The company has dedicated a YouTube blog post to the feature, talking about how nice it would be to send videos to your phone. With the time limit for videos recently increased, this could be helpful for finishing a video you started at a later time.

The extension only works with Android 2.2 (Froyo) at this point. In fact, I seem to recall Google touching on such a functionality in their Froyo demo at Google I/O in May.
