People who enjoy gawking at Google’s "creative" workspaces now have on more area to look over.  This morning, Google officially opened an office in Pittsburgh, and the 40,000-square-foot environment is hard to mistake for any other company’s property.

Below, you can see one of the more zoomed-out pictures Google provided.  Other highlights include a suspended room made from cargo netting, a conference room inside an upright metal tube, and a nice-looking cafe deck.  Plus a large cookie dough mixer, since the site used to house a Nabisco factory.

As for what sort of work will get done in Pittsburgh, different Googlers are supposed to focus on Ads Quality, Product Search, reCAPTCHA, Sky in Google Earth, and the Sky Map planetarium app.  A Google Apps sales team has been put together to do its thing, as well.

If any of this sounds interesting to you (and you’re a near-genius with an impeccable resume who lives in the area), Google announced that it does want to hire more employees for its Pittsburgh office.  Only 150 or so people already work there, so there are definitely positions left to fill.

Good luck if you decide to apply.  And congratulations to Pittsburgh’s existing population of Googlers on moving into your new home.
