LinkNotify Makes Facebook Better for Content Discovery

LinkNotify is a free service that lets you see links your friends share on Facebook, without all of the noise that surrounds them in your actual Facebook feed. Facebook is for friends, and LinkNotify is for content, but content that comes from your friends and the sources you like.

Disclaimer: LinkNotify was developed by WebProNews parent company iEntry Inc. It joins Twellow and SocialDitto in our family of social media-related services.

LinkNotify is very much about content discovery. It reduces the clutter of your Facebook Newsfeed, turning just the links your friends share into a separate content discovery service. LinkNotify is great for more of a web surfing experience, as opposed to just seeing what your friends are up to. The big difference between this and other content discovery services is that it is ALL content your friends (and Pages you like) deem interesting.

You’re presented with a clean layout like this, so you can easily browse just the links:

You also have the ability to add and subtract sources to make your experience more enjoyable for content discovery. Let’s face it. Just because you like a brand on Facebook, it doesn’t mean you care about all of their links. Just because you’re friends with someone, doesn’t mean you like the kind of content they share. LinkNotify solves that problem. Any sources you delete from your LinkNotify feed are not deleted from Facebook, so you don’t have to worry about not being friends with someone just because you don’t like they’re tastes in link sharing.

LinkNotify will also let you browse links by your Facebook lists. So, for example, you can see just links shared by you co-workers or just from friends that live in your town.

There are multiple ways to access LinkNotify, and it works with any device. You can go to LinkNotify.com anytime to see up-to-the-minute links. There is a nice clean-looking mobile version to accompany it. You can get daily emails in the morning showing you the links you may have missed, and there is an internal Facebook app so you can look at your links anytime right in Facebook itself.

LinkNotify is a perfectly helpful and usable service today, but it’s still in its early stages and will only get better in time as more features are added – and they will be added.

Of course feedback is encouraged. You can share your thoughts in the comments of this article or on the LinkNotify Facebook Page.
