Legendary blues singer Etta James passed away today at the age of 73 following a long battle with chronic leukemia and hepatitis C.
Twitter was full of reactions to the singer’s death and “Etta James” was even the top worldwide trend today around 12:40PM. I’ve included some of the sentiments people posted on Twitter but I also want to share with you a couple of songs of James’ that I personally like. I’m sure everybody at one point or another has heard her most recognizable song, “At Last,” which I’ve included below. First, though, I have to tell you something very serious and so it’s imperative that you finish this paragraph before listening to the song: if somehow this will be the first time you have ever heard Etta James sing “At Last,” be very careful about who you’re sitting next to or even who you’re thinking about when you click the play button because as soon as the first cresting note of James voice alights upon your ears you will instantly fall in love with that person. You think I’m joking right now but I’m not. This is a nuclear-power love potion you are about to listen so respect it’s power because it will throw your heart into upheaval if it catches you unaware.
We all clear on that? Okay. Now… sally forth and go get your heart broken.
rest in peace Etta James

@MailOnline, you might want to change your Etta James headline. Not good.
DearYeah, and concerning that last Tweet I shared. This was their headline running on the article when the news of James’ death broke.
