Apple’s iPhone remains the most popular choice among teens by a wide margin, dealing a major setback to Android.
According to the Piper Sandler Taking Stock With Teens survey, some 87% of teens currently own an iPhone. What’s more, 88% of teens expect to own an iPhone for their next device. Meanwhile, 35% own an Apple Watch.
The survey is bad news for Android, as Apple’s devices certainly have the “cool factor” going for them.
It’s no secret that people often stick with the devices and platforms they’re exposed to early on, making this even worse news for Google than it looks on the surface. With 87-88% of the next generation already firmly entrenched in Apple’s ecosystem, the Cupertino company is poised to continue growing and hold on to its gains.
